Direct Support & Protection
When systems fail, we step in. Equity Net Ghana provides direct, frontline support to marginalized individuals in crisis, safe shelter, counseling, and healthcare access. These are not referrals to somewhere else. This is us, on the ground, responding when someone has nowhere else to turn.
We operate the Safe House Initiative, a real, functioning emergency shelter that provides immediate protection for marginalized individuals fleeing violence, eviction, or displacement. Residents receive meals, psychosocial support, legal guidance, and structured transition planning for up to three months. This program is active with multiple beneficiaries currently housed.
We connect marginalized individuals to vetted, affirming healthcare providers and cover medical costs for those who cannot afford treatment. Our accompaniment service ensures no one faces a hostile clinic alone, a trained advocate attends appointments alongside the client, providing support and accountability.
We provide affirming, trauma-informed mental health care through individual therapy, peer support circles, and crisis intervention. Our counselors are trained to work specifically with marginalized communities, meeting people where they are, without judgment, and walking with them through recovery at their own pace.
