At Equity Net Ghana, advocacy is how we turn lived experience into systemic change. Through community engagement, legal reform, research, digital protection, and storytelling, we challenge the structures that marginalize and build toward a Ghana where every person is seen, protected, and valued.
Our organization is committed to advocating for the rights of marginalized queer communities across Ghana. Human rights advocacy, in our approach, involves protecting individuals from discrimination and violence, ensuring access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities, and creating spaces where voices from the margins are heard and valued.
We engage duty bearers, lawmakers, and institutions to push for legal protections and policy reforms that uphold the rights of marginalized communities. Through strategic advocacy, shadow reporting, and stakeholder engagement, we work to ensure that national laws and policies reflect the dignity and humanity of every citizen, not just the majority.
We advocate for the recognition of digital rights as human rights. In a landscape where marginalized individuals face targeted surveillance, doxxing, and online violence, we campaign for stronger digital protections, raise public awareness about cyber threats, and push platforms and policymakers to take action against online harm.
